When Palm Oil Plantations Are Integrated With Sheep Farms

When fertilizer consumption for palm oil plantations can be reduced and even eliminated and replaced with cheap organic fertilizer, the cost of producing palm oil can automatically be reduced. This is because the cost of fertilizer is one of the highest cost components of palm oil production. In addition to fertilizer for palm oil plantations not subsidized, and almost all use chemical fertilizers. This is the high cost factor, besides chemical fertilizers also damage the environment, especially for the long term.
When the cost of producing palm oil is high while the selling price of crude oil products or crude palm oil (CPO) low certainly makes the business of palm oil less attractive or less profitable. It has been recorded that in the past 10 years there have been high fluctuations in the selling price of palm oil fruit. The CPO selling price factor as a final product for most of Indonesia's palm oil mills also will to reduce the selling price of palm oil fruits from farmers. The latest info such as the European Union which rejects Indonesian CPO is a condition that complicates the sale or export of CPO.

In terms of production to reduce production costs is an increase in efficiency, especially reducing the high cost component, especially the non-subsidized chemical fertilizer. The integration of palm oil plantations and sheep farming is the solution. Lamb manure is used to fertilize palm oil plantations. With an area of thousands of hectares of oil palm plantations, it can allocate 5-10% of the land area to the sheep farm. The more non-subsidized chemical fertilizers can be reduced, the lower the cost of production, but besides that sheep farming itself can bring more attractive benefits. Indonesia, which still has a meat deficit and low consumption of per capita to meat, can also be overcome by this farm. Some time ago there was a government plan to import 100 thousand tons of buffalo meat from India to cover the deficit, so that this should be overcome also with the farm. The sheep export market is also promising, such as Saudi Arabia, which requires around 2 million heads each year and a quarter (500 thousand) in the Hajj season. This sheep can also be the best Muslim property, more details read here.

With the vast Indonesian palm oil plantation reaching 12 million hectares, it is certainly possible to achieve meat self-sufficiency by integrating it with sheep farming. In addition, of course the government should strive for the progress of the oil palm industry as part of the welfare of its people. Of course with an accurate solution that can be done like trade attaches abroad can be instructed to promote Indonesian palm oil. And in the end the more efficient the production and the greater the demand for palm products, the higher the price of palm oil and palm oil products and the more attractive benefits for farmers and entrepreneurs.

Finding The Best Treasure From Energy Plantation Implementation Part 10

"It is He Who has brought down the rain from the sky for you, some of it has become a drink and some of it has grown up, the plants which are in your place of grazing your cattle. "(Qur'an 16:10)

"Eat and graze your animals. Verily in this, there are signs of the power of Allah for those who understand. "(Qur'an, 20:54)

"Muslims are syirkah (sharia business cooperation) to three things, in terms of pasture (land), water and fire (energy)". (HR. Sunan Abu Daud).

Sheep farming with the integration of energy plantation for the production of charcoal briquette is an attractive and ideal combination. This is because the sheep farm will produce dung that can fertilize the energy plantation, while the leaves waste from the energy plantation can be an additional feed for the sheep farm. In addition charcoal briquette produced also to cook or roast the lamb meat. This happens if the sheep are exported to the markets of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the Middle East, as well as the charcoal briquette. Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the Middle East really like lamb and become their favorite food and charcoal briquette as fuel for processing it by burning or baking like satay, more details can be read here.
Calliandra energy plantations and sheep farms can be made in one location, namely sheep farms in the energy plantation, for example 500 hectares of available land, 450 hectares of energy plantation and 50 hectares of sheep farm. The sheep farm is in the form of pasture, which is managed by grasslands for sheep farming. Rotational grazing is an effective grazing technique that can be applied to the sheep farm. With rotational grazing techniques, one of the rooms (paddock) is used for grazing and the other rooms are rested so the grass can recover. With this technique the condition of the grass is always maintained and the sheep can maximize eating the grass in the room (paddock).
Calliandra is a type of fast-rotating plant, so it only takes 1 year and can be harvested from wood and can be harvested every year without having to replant it every year. This is because the calliandra is a coppice plant that can grow again from the rest of the stem. The wood from the calliandra plantation is for the production of charcoal briquette. Honey bee farms can also be made in the energy plantation. Calliandra flowers are a source of high quality honey, so the price is also expensive. This honey bee farm is an additional attractive business unit for sheep farming and the production of charcoal briquette.
Technically there are two routes for the production of charcoal briquette, namely route 1 by making briquettes first and then making them (carbonization). With route 1 briquetting does not use adhesive and higher density, for more detail read here. Whereas route 2, namely by the way the wood is made into charcoal and then briquetted. In route 2, adhesive is needed, namely starch to glue the charcoal into briquettes. The density of charcoal briquette with route 2 is also still less than the route 1. The quality of charcoal briquette route 1 is better than that of route 2. It is this product of charcoal briquette route 1 that is in high demand from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the Middle East.

Finding The Best Treasure From Energy Plantation Implementation Part 9

"And who grows grass. "(QS al-A'laa: 4)

Allah SWT grows grass (QS Al A'laa: 4) even though humans can just plant the grass but in essence Allah is the One who grows the grasses. That's because all related things to make grass grows has been created and prepared by Him. The grass is also very easy to grow and can be found in almost all places in Indonesia. In many ways this grass is even considered as a problem so a number of efforts are mobilized to overcome the problem of the grass. Even though the grasses are animal feed, especially sheep, goats, cattle and buffalo. This means that the grass is an important link for the meat production we need. In the UK even grass has contributed around 90% to their meat production, so grass cultivation for cattle grazing is professionally important in their food sector. Rotational grazing is the best technique for grazing livestock, especially sheep or sheep and cattle.
Grass Growth Cycle
The quality and quantity of grass is ultimately an important factor for the farm business with the grazing technique. Professional shepherds must be able to identify and strive for the best grasses for their livestock. Grasses that are anatomically mostly leaves are the same as the leaves of various plants that have a cycle of growing, mature, old, dead and dry. When should the sheep eat the grass? This needs to be considered for professional grazing. Farm animals do not like old grass but also those who are too young. The condition of the medium or adult age of the grass is the best condition for animal feed because the nutritional content is also maximal. What is the consequence if livestock are lacking in consuming grass or eating enough grass but low quality? Of course the results will not be optimal, especially for the growth of the weight of the livestock.
Grass for the farm with the grazing pattern is the main feed for the livestock, while the leaves that are considered as waste from the energy plantation are the additional feed. The more feed available, the more livestock can be cultivated. Calliandra leaves have a high protein content because the roots of the leguminoceae group have the ability to bind nitrogen to the root nodules. The ability to bind nitrogen to the root nodules in addition to the roots fertilize the soil will also increase the protein content of the calliandra leaves. The high levels of protein in the leaves become a highly nutritious supplement for the sheep. By using the leaves to feed sheep and sheep dung for energy plantation fertilizers, the integration of energy plantations and sheep farms is optimal.
Mixed grazing of sheep with cattle is also very possible because both of them can optimize feed in the pasture. The habit of grazing cows with sheep is different, so are the types of grass that are their favorite feed. The anatomical factors of the mouth of the two animals are different so that it affects the grazing habits and types of grass eaten, for more clarity to read in the table below. Another advantageous factor of sheep grazing with cattle is that cows tend to protect sheep when grazing from disturbances such as wild animals, so that they have more grazing effects and are so long that the increase in body weight increases rapidly. Although grazing mixed with sheep and cattle can give positive results, but grazing mixed sheep with horses does not match and gives a negative result.

Finding The Best Treasure From Energy Plantation Implementation Part 7

"It is He Who has brought down the rain from the sky for you, some of it has become a drink and some of it has grown up, the plants which are in your place of grazing your cattle. "(Qur'an 16:10)

"Eat and graze your animals. Verily in this, there are signs of the power of Allah for those who understand "(Qur'an, 20:54)

"Muslims are syirkah (sharia business cooperation) to three things, in terms of pasture (land), water and fire (energy)". (HR. Sunan Abu Daud).

Farmers outside Java island generally have 5-10 hectares of land, but not a few that have tens of hectares to hundreds of hectares. Many of these lands have not been planted or optimized so as to provide benefits for their owners. These lands are very potential to be made efficient pasture by rotating grazing. Sheep grazing and mixed sheep and cattle can be cultivated in these areas. Rotation grazing is to divide the pasture into several units such as the horse training arena (paddock), and then the cattle take turns grazing in the boundary grazing area. In rotation grazing there is always a pasture field that is rested to restore the growth of the grass. The landowners can also be syirkah (sharia business cooperation) to reach a certain area of land to be used as an energy plantation. Energy plantation will produce wood for energy, namely wood pellets or wood briquettes or derivatives of other products. The leaves are used for animal feed namely sheep and sheep with cow. Farm animals can even be grazed in an energy plantation area with certain techniques or sacrifice some land for grazing areas.
Rotation grazing will provide efficient results in both meat productivity and the sustainability of the pasture. Grass growth can be maintained in such a way by rotating grazing, which is maintained at height of 8-10 cm. If the grass is eaten out (overgrazed) to the base of the stem it will be difficult to grow properly again. The technique regulates that the grass continues to grow well by regulating the duration of grazing on the grazing block, this will also be affected by the season factor. Grass will grow faster in the rainy season and oppositely in the dry season. With good irrigation, the growth of grass in the dry season can be maintained. Pasture is essentially farming of grass itself. In addition, by rotation grazing of sheep or livestock, they will graze more evenly because the grazing area is limited by the barriers. As a comparison, continuous grazing is used, where animals tend to only eat grass that is preferred and even overgrazed so that the sustainability of grass pasture is less optimal.

Then how can the sustainability of pasture be optimal? Fertilization is an important thing to achieve this, in addition to the things above. Distribution of livestock manure must be made as well as possible in the pasture field. With a ratio of land area compared to the number of animals small or the number of livestock made more so that the larger population makes the distribution of fertilizer evenly distributed. The distance of livestock mobility in this way is short and limited. Of course the availability of feed in the form of grass is an important consideration for the technique. Dense grass, although not so broad, may provide more food than large land with rare grass populations. If the area of 1 m2 with the condition of dense grass produced 1 kg of grass, then for every hectare there is 10 tons of grass for feed.
The Qur'an shows that pasture animals like the shade under the trees and also near the source of water (QS 16:10). This has also been proven from professional grazing in various countries over the globe. For this reason the pasture should also be overgrown with trees like the Qur'an's instructions. Among these trees can also grow a lot of grass. Farm animals will spend a lot of time in the shade under the trees. Water sources also need to be provided at that location for the place to drink the grazing animals. As a result, livestock manure will also accumulate in these locations so that it also fertilizes the soil. Fruit trees and woody trees can be used in the pasture. Leaves from the energy plantation can be used as additional feed for the sheep. Sheep farming can also include supporting the Shari'a qurban ie Islamic Shari'a slaughtering sacrificial animals on every 10 Dzulhijah or Idhu Adha feasts. In addition to these lands being used for energy plantations, plantation lands in Indonesia is very broad, for example palm oil which reaches 12 million hectares, coconut 3.7 million hectares, rubber 3.5 million hectares, various fruit plantations also very broad can be modified by sheep grazing to optimize land and increase soil fertility.

Finding The Best Treasure From Energy Plantation Implementation Part 6

"It is He Who has brought down the rain from the sky for you, some of it has become a drink and some of it has grown up, the plants which are in your place of grazing your cattle. "(Qur'an 16:10)

"Eat and graze your animals. Verily in this, there are signs of the power of Allah for those who understand. "(Qur'an, 20:54)

"Muslims are syirkah (sharia business cooperation) to three things, in terms of pasture (land), water and fire (energy)". (HR. Sunan Abu Daud).

When Muslims practice the instructions above, the problem of food, energy and water will be overcome. Why is the problem of food, energy and water so chaotic now? It can even threaten a country's sovereignty. The answer is because muslims don't practice the instructions above. In the current era when the world is competing to lower the earth's temperature, the energy sector can be a strategic entry point. Energy from trees or wood which is also in line with the current Qur'anic guidance has become a world program because it is a carbon neutral fuel that does not increase CO2 levels in the atmosphere. Europe, for example with the proclaimed bioeconomy program, energy from biomass reaches 70%. Japan and Korea with renewable energy programs also need tens of millions of tons of biomass fuel. The United States through its Energy Department has announced the production of dry biomass of at least 1 billion tons in 2040 without damaging the environment. Canada with its climate plan has also targeted to eliminate or free coal and gas power plants in 2030. When Muslims practice these instructions, they will get a reward for their faith in Allah SWT and His Messenger, not just benefits worldly like environmental benefits and economic benefits.
Wood pellets are biomass processing products that are very popular today. Multipurpose energy plantations can be used for the production of woody biomass as raw material for the production of wood pellets. The export wood pellet market is mainly Japan and Korea, but both have their own characteristics. Designing a multipurpose energy plantation for production also requires its own techniques, for more details can be read here. With Syirkah (sharia business cooperation) it is very likely that this potential can be realized. Then what if the Muslims do not want to be syirkah (sharia business cooperation)? First, obviously it will be very difficult to capture these opportunities. Second, the problem of food, energy and water will be controlled by non-Muslims, and Muslims will only be spectators and consumers, similar to today's conditions. Third, when the important matters of food, water and energy are not in the hands of the Muslims, the people are not self-sufficient and easily broken down and so on. Migration from fossil economics to bioeconomy is the right momentum for the economic awakening of the muslims people. The domestic wood pellet market also needs to be created and developed continuously. It is not impossible when the production of biomass fuels, especially wood pellets is massive, the role of renewable energy from biomass becomes dominant. Especially at this time Indonesia has also become the nett importer of petroleum. Petroleum produced domestically is not enough to meet the consumption of its population.
Sheep farming and honey bees integrated with energy plantations will provide optimal added value. The undeveloped and organized sheep producers in Indonesia makes the contribution in the economic sector still minimal. For example, in a country with a majority of non-Muslims such as the United States, there is a sheep association namely the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI), which has about 83,000 sheep producers. In addition to a number of pastures both in the area of ??fruit trees or food crops, such as coconut plantations, mango plantations, guava and so on are ideal locations for sheep farming, the grasslands are in forest areas whose main products are wood such as mahogany, sengon and so on are also very good. In reference to Alberta, Canada's local Ministry of Environmental Protection has used tens of thousands of sheep to control hairy grasses that block the growth of weed grass in the area. Sheep include livestock that are resistant to a number of plants that are considered toxic, like furry plants which are a kind of weed and poisonous to cattle. So because of its ability in Texas and Southwest sheep is also used to control a number of species of weeds that attack grass habitat.
Maintaining a minimum of 3 inch (7.5 cm) grass is an important factor in pasture
Grazing techniques in Indonesia may have its own characteristics, this is because Indonesia has a tropical climate, while most big sheep producers are currently in subtropical climates. But it is precisely in this tropical region that sheep farming should have an ideal place for grazing, because it refers to the above Qur'anic instructions (Qur'an 16:10). Rotation grazing is the best way to get the best quality and quantity of meat. Milk, wool and leather are also other products produced from sheep farms which are also very much needed by Indonesia at this time. The speed of grass to recover in the rainy season is much faster than the dry season. But because excessive rain can cause the sheep to get sick and die, the pasture duration during the rainy season can be accelerated, but with shorter rotations and more sheep in the cage. Whereas in the dry season the way of grazing is the opposite. A good irrigation will keep the green-green grass in the dry season. In the current era to get water for irrigation a number of ways can be taken. In addition to flowing water from mountain water sources or blocking the flow of rivers, other methods such as making wells and water are raised and used on these plantations and farms. A number of technologies can be used to generate electricity for pump energy that raises water from the well, for example solar energy with solar PV, wind energy, biomass energy with gasification, stirling engine and ORC (organic rankine cycle).
Sheep grazing with cattle has also been shown to give positive results. This is because the two types of livestock have different grazing habits, for example sheep like broadleaf grass, while cows like narrow leafy grass. Sheep and cattle grazing can be done simultaneously or at different times. Pastures is also better, because all grasses are eaten by sheep and cattle, evenly. If the grassland is not grazed evenly, the quality of the grass will also decrease. Certain types of grass become favorites for sheep so that this type will be eaten more, even run out. Grass with such conditions becomes difficult to grow well again. Pastoral care as well as agricultural fields must be maintained to continue to produce these livestock feeds. Another important indication that this joint grazing gives more positive results, it's from a number of studies carried out in various locations in the world that with sheep grazing with cattle (mixed grazing), sheep weight gain is around 10% than just sheep grazing and an increase in cow weight around 25% compared only cow grazing.
Honey bee farming is another additional effort to improve the optimization of land use and help pollinate a variety of plants. There are many types of honey bees, the consideration of choosing the type of honey bee is also based on the cultivation technique and the honey production. Local honey bees are generally more easily cultivated such as the genus Trigona (stingless bee). Wood pellets, sheep, (plus cows) and honey are products that integrate energy plantations with farms of sheep and honey bees. This is the current opportunity, especially for Muslims to boost and accelerate their economic growth by means of the syirkah like the Prophet's hadith above. When the bioeconomy in Europe is targeted to drive the economic sector by € 2 trillion (34,000 trillion or 17 times the Indonesian state budget) and the absorption of 20 million workers, then Indonesia with biggest country in South Ast Asia, the bioeconomy in the tropics are based on integration these energy plantations and farms should also be very large. The Netherlands, which has an area about the size of East Java, targets 2.6-3 billion Euros (around 50 trillion rupiah) from its bioeconomy sector. Of course more important than all of this is our faith and devotion to Allah SWT so that the blessings from heaven and earth will be bestowed:

"If the inhabitants of these countries have faith and piety, surely We will bestow upon them blessings from heaven and earth, but they deny (Our verses), We will punish them for their actions." (Surat al-A ' raf: 96)

Finding The Best Treasure From Energy Plantation Implementation Part 5

"It is He Who has brought down the rain from the sky for you, some of it has become a drink and some of it has grown up, the plants which are in your place of grazing your cattle. "(Qur'an 16:10)

"Eat and graze your animals. Verily in this, there are signs of the power of Allah for those who understand. "(Qur'an, 20:54)
There is a very positive correlation between manure organic fertilizer with crop productivity. When farms are integrated with agriculture and forestry, there will be a closed cycle of fertilizer fulfillment and crop productivity. And vice versa. If fertilizers, especially organic fertilizers, cannot be met, then inorganic fertilizers, namely chemical fertilizers, will replace them. Whereas by making the closed cycle, it will eliminate the need for inorganic fertilizers or chemical fertilizers. In addition to increasing costs, the use of chemical fertilizers also damage or poison agricultural land. Integration of livestock with forestry, as well as with agriculture at present, have generally been damaged and cut off so that the consequence of dependence on chemical fertilizers is high. Agroforestry and animal husbandry, especially sheep grazing, should be developed, so that the business will be optimal, environmentally friendly and sustainable.

In the implementation technically in energy plantation, the sheep can be grazed directly in the plantation, but by observing the age of the energy plantation trees, the practice is made in rotation. When the energy plantation trees are large enough, then the sheep can be released and grazed in the area, but when the energy plantation trees are still small, the sheep cannot be grazed in the area, because it will damage the growth of the trees . The second technique is to make a sheep colony between or in the middle of the energy plantation. In addition to the sheep colony area, there is also a grazing area for sheep. The grazing is also made rotation according to the availability of grass or sheep feed. The portion of grass from grazing can be made with a ratio of 50:50 with forage, energy plantation waste. All breeders also know, especially sheep farmers, that the feed can be said to be the main component of the livestock business costs. So if the feed can be made as cheap as possible, then automatically profit margin is also high. Imagine if sheep feed had to be imported and expensive, even though the land to graze or grow grass was very broad, this would be foolishness. Forage quality in the form of grasses and leaves is the best feed. The protein content of leguminoceae leaves in the energy plantation is also high, thus producing high quality feed and conversion to lamb meat will also be high.

Grass can grow almost anywhere in Indonesia, because it has a tropical climate and fertile soil. We do not need to bother planting these grasses, even in many cases cleaning the grass is a problem. In dry countries like Egypt to get grass, farmers need to plant and care for them. We should be grateful to Allah SWT for these favors. In large-scale energy plantation and sheep farming, irrigation is a very important factor. Allah Almighty created the living from water. The grass will also dry it and die when there is no water, as well as the energy plantation trees - even though these types of trees are very efficient in water use.
Kitab Al Filaha, the Book of Phenomenal Agriculture in the Age of the Umayyad Caliphate in Andalusia Who Becomes European Referral For Centuries.

A good irrigation system must be built in the area and that is not a difficult job. In the Umayyad Caliphate in Andalusia the waterways were built even from distant and mountainous sources, to meet the water needs of the city, including their agriculture and livestock. Rainfall in Andalusia (Spain today) is also low namely 640 mm / year, while Indonesia averages 2700 mm / year but their agriculture and livestock are very advanced, even becoming a European reference for centuries after. Islamic civilization in Andalusia is not only the beauty of the building of its mosque, palace, urban spatial planning, science, but also its economy and prosperity, namely the fulfillment of its food from their agriculture and livestock. History is always repetitive, and we can work on it by studying the Islamic civilization and knowing what factors support it. Whereas in the contemporary era, we can see that the Netherlands with its irrigation network has been able to boost its bioeconomics, both in the food, energy and material sectors. Bioeconomics is based on animals and plants as objects, which Allah created from water: "... And from the water We make all things alive. Why then do they not believe? "(Qur'an 21: 30), so that fulfilling water needs will optimize its growth. There is no life without water. Bioeconomics in Europe aims to drive the economy by € 2 trillion (around 34,000 trillion rupiah or around 17 times the Indonesian state budget) by absorbing 20 million workers.
Sheep Transport Ship With a Capacity of Up to 40,000 Sheep / Shipment

Then how is the lamb meat market? Currently the largest sheep market is Saudi Arabia, with an estimated 8 million head / year or a quarter (2 million head) in the Haj season. While for the domestic market the demand is not large, except for Idhul Adha. How to increase the consumption of lamb? To accelerate the increase in lamb meat, humanitarian agencies can work with the sheep farm. Innovation can be made by the way the lamb meat is cooked and then canned so that long lasting. Ready-to-eat food products that were canned before also have been circulating in the market such as the  gudeg, rendang, green lombok soup and so on, so that it is also possible for processed lamb meat like tongseng, gule and satay. At present if humanitarian agencies donate food to our brothers and sisters victims of conflict areas such as Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Rohingnya, then canned meat of sheep should be part of the package. Don't prioritize instant noodles, which are imported raw materials and very few importers (monopoly / oligopoly). In addition, ready-to-eat canned lamb is also marketed at domestic outlets so that the interest in consumption of lamb meat continues to increase, especially among the majority of Muslims in this country.
In addition agroforestry productivity increase with the quality, other industrial sectors that benefit from the development of sheep farming are the leather industry and the textile industry. Sheep slaughtered in Indonesia, the skin and fur will become the raw material for the leather industry and textile industry. Jackets, wallets, and bags are some of the products of the sheep skin-based leather industry. Furthermore, wool yarn which has been mostly imported, can be reduced or even eliminated by massive sheep farms and energy plantations. How beautiful if the Prophet's sunnah can be implemented, especially other plantations such as 12 million hectares of oil palm plantations; coconut 3.7 million hectares; 3.4 million hectares of rubber and so on are very potential for the sheep farm business. When faith in piety is increasingly implemented in everyday life so that bank interest rates can be eliminated or 0%, then wealth becomes a blessing, passion for business and greater competitiveness and innovative concepts for good can be realized immediately. And when the economy is controlled and driven by good people, goodness will be widespread in various parts of the world. Insha Allah.

Satay and Processed Lamb Meat anytime!

Eating satay and processed lamb meat products is delicious, so how delicious if you can eat it often. Some of our people can enjoy these dishes only during Eid al-Adha. Of course this must continue to be improved because the average meat consumption of the Indonesian population is still low. Even though protein is one of the essential nutrients we really need. And for that lamb meat is the best meat despite many myths that oppose it. In Al Qur'an Surah 6: 143-144, eight pairs of animals (4 pairs) are two (a pair) of sheep, a pair of goats, a pair of camels and a pair of cows. Of the series of livestock mentioned in the verses above, sheep are first mentioned, then goats, camels and cattle.
The rules in the Qur'an, the first one has virtue over afterwards. Now, this is where sheep have superiority compared to other livestock mentioned in the verses, although all these animals are halal meat eaten. Other indications of the virtue of sheep can also be found in the Qurban event, namely when Prophet Ibrahim was ordered by Allah SWT to slaughter his son Ismail, then by Allah SWT saved Ismail and replaced him with a large sheep. Then we commemorate this event every year and become the Shari'a of Qurban on the Eid al-Adha feast every year in 10 Dzulhijah. Besides that, all Prophets are sheep shepherd, is another indication that lamb is the best meat and the sheep that are grazed are the best treasures

The next question that can arise is is there another guide more specific about diet, especially protein? The Qur'an also indicates the source of protein from large livestock occupies the largest portion of poultry and fish. The source of animal protein that is from large livestock is revealed in at least 7 verses or 64%, from fish revealed in 3 verses or 27% and from poultry revealed in 1 verse or 9%. So that the fulfillment of protein needs is the priority of large livestock, especially those that are grazed, because in addition to producing cheap protein, it also fertilizes the land for various human needs.
So that satay and processed lamb meat can be eaten anytime and anywhere, food innovation is needed. We are certainly familiar with various canned foods so that they can last longer such as gudeg, rendang and so on. Of course this is also very possible for lamb. It is also to further promote the best meat, so that when it is called meat, the community will later associate it to lamb instead of beef or chicken as happened today. If the conditions are like that, then the sheep farming industry will grow rapidly. Sheep farming can be integrated with various large plantations and for more details can be read here.

Transmigration For Sheep Grazing In Palm Oil Plantation, Is It Possible?

"It is He Who has sent down rain from the sky for you, partly a drink and partly (fertilizes) the plants, on which you are grazing your cattle. "(QS 16:10)

"Eat and graze your cattle. Verily in that is, there are signs of Allah for those who understand. "(QS 20:54)

"" Every Prophet sent by Allah is shepherded sheep / goats ". His friends asked: "So are you?"; The Messenger of Allah said: "Yes, I herded with the wages of some qirath  from the Mecca inhabitants". (H.R. Bukhari)

Indonesia has around 12 million hectares of palm oil plantations currently, comprising 4.8 million hectares of smallholder plantations, 6.2 million hectares of private plantations and 0.8 million hectares of state plantations. The palm oil plantation requires a number of treatments that can continue to produce especially with the target of producing certain fresh fruit bunches (FFB) per hectare. Moreover, the productivity of FFB in Indonesia in general is also lower than Malaysia, which is only about half. Maintaining soil fertility is an important factor to maintain the continuity and production target of palm oil FFB. Efforts to maintain soil fertility is cheap, easy, effective and sustainable is what is sought by all farmers or entrepreneurs of palm oil. Grazing sheep in palm oil plantations is an effective solution.
Why sheep grazing can be such an effective solution? The sheep that are grazed in the palm oil plantation, will spread the dung into fertilizer for palm oil plantations. In addition to fertilize palm trees, sheep grazing in the palm oil plantation also means massive and most economical meat production. Viewed from the food side, palm oil is used as an oil in human consumption or edible oil  provides fat, while lamb (sheep) provides protein, two things essential for human food. Palm oil plantations need to keep their soil fertile, meat consumption of the Indonesian population is still low only 1/4 of the world so needs to be improved, sheep also export commodities, which Saudi Arabia needs at least 8 million head / year, and economic activities outside Java need continue to be increased so that jobs can continue to be opened, the current distribution of 60% of Indonesian population is concentrated in Java island, are the driving force of sheep grazing in palm oil plantations. Sheep will be the best treasure of Muslims and have many advantages over other livestock, for more details can be read here, here and here.

Allan Savory, a biologist from Zimbabwe has proven with a planned grazing program, or with the concept of Holistic Planned Grazing, has even saved the earth by re-greening it with very large area, namely  16 million hectares or nearly 2.5 times the area of Indonesian palm oil plantation. Allan Savory uses the cow as the grazing animal. Sheep are definitely superior in some aspects, such as the explanation in the links above. Allan Savory alone who only human beings with the concept can prove save the earth with the extent of millions of hectares, well what if the sunnah (example) of the Prophets applied namely sheep grazing applied? Of course the result will far outweigh the concept of Allan Savory in all its aspects, let alone just overcome a number of problems in palm oil plantations and our food, especially meat. In addition, it is clear that the above verses of the Qur'an also gives hint as to where the actual grazing sites are most suitable for livestock. Are Muslim farmers and businessmen in Indonesia and Malaysia not particularly interested in applying sheep grazing in their palm oil plantations as an effective solution, following the sunnah (example) and guidance of the Qur'anic verses above?

Portion of Animal Protein Sources According to the Qur'an
Transmigration that was once encouraged in the New Order era in Indonesia, should be done again. When transmigration at that time to farm by cultivating the soil and planting crops, even to the opening of a million hectares of rice fields that are currently conditions are pathetic, then the current transmigration is for sheep grazing in the area of palm oil plantations. It will be easier, because the  palm oil plantations have also existed and are very wide. If it is applied then there will be hundreds of millions of sheep grazed in palm oil plantations and very many jobs are available. Al Qur'an also indicates the source of protein from big livestock occupies the largest portion of poultry and fish. The source of animal protein ie from big livestock is revealed in at least 7 verses or 64%, of fish revealed in 3 verses or 27% and of poultry revealed in 1 verse or 9%. So for the fulfillment of protein needs the priority is from large livestock, especially be grazed, because in addition to producing cheap protein, also fertilize the land for various human needs.
In terms of energy, palm trees as well as a source of renewable energy. The oil in addition to food is also to for energy ie biodiesel, coir (mesocrap fiber) and shell as well as fuel. Palm kernel shells have become export commodities that are sought after by many countries in the world. Even when the palm shell is exhausted due to high demand for both export and domestic use, the empty fruit bunches (EFB) will also be used for fuels such as EFB pellets. When the empty palm fruit bunches are composted, and then pellet is made, so the fertility of the soil becomes a problem then grazing the sheep as a solution, for more details can be read here. The use of palm trees as a source of food and energy in line with the era of bioeconomy that we will soon enter.

Finding The Best Treasure From Energy Plantation Implementation Part 2

Cattle grazing proved to be important activity and work that will continue to exist until doomsday. Most human beings regard it as a lowly and ancient work so much abandoned. Though of course in the current era technology devices can be used to facilitate grazing, one of which is with IoT (Internet of Things) which is also widely applied in some areas of life. With cattle grazing turns out one of the important things for human that the cycle of food can run and continue (sustain). Soil fertility will be preserved, then grasses can continue to grow as well as various other trees. It is Allan Savory, a biologist from Zimbabwe who formulated the phenomenal concept of saving life on earth through Holistic Planned Grazing, a simple concept of planned grazing. The concept has even been applied in various parts of the world, ranging from Africa, Australia, Latin America and even North America with a total area of more than 16 million hectares (about 40 million acres). How the grazing system so that it can save life on earth, watch the video of Allan Savory is in this link. The principle is to plan the rotation of the cattle grazing periodically so that the distribution of livestock manure to a large area and the grass in the pasture area has not been exhausted has been abandoned by cattle grazing, and then each area is visited again when the grass has been restored.
Masha Allah. It proves and convinces us that what all the Prophets and Messengers of Allah do, we are worth imitating until the end of time. But there is a difference of cattle that Allan Savory used with Allah's prophets, Allan Savory used cows while the whole Prophet was grazed sheep or goats. Why did all the Prophets graze the sheep and not the cows? Allah Almighty who sent the Prophets certainly has a purpose with it and certainly contains a lot of wisdom in it. Some of these wisdom, among others, first, the mathematical proliferation of sheep much faster than cow. A single female sheep or goat can give birth to six lambs in two years, while a cow gives only one or a maximum of two at the same time. Second, sheep or goats with smaller sizes are also more mobile in spreading dirt so that fertilizing effects on the soil are also more evenly distributed. Third, the quality of sheep dung as fertilizer is also better than cow dung, especially on the macro content of nitrogen (N), phospur (P), and potassium (K). Because the result of ordinary human works, Savory approach is certainly still contain many weaknesses, but it also can save the area of tens of millions of hectares in the whole world mentioned above. What if the example of the Prophets with the sheep grazing is applied all over the world? Of course the result will be much better in all aspects.
The harvesting rotation in energy plantations can also be adjusted with rotation of sheep groups in the grass area. The location of trees in the energy plantaion that is ready to harvest with the grass below can be used for sheep grazing. Trees that are high so that the leaves are not reached by the sheep, so as not to damage the trees. After the wood is harvested and leaves separated, then the leaves are also feed the sheep. The grass and the plantations will be pleasing to the sheep and sheep owners.

The low production of our meat, the low consumption of meat per capita and the high import of meat is our problem today. Indonesia's meat production currently stands at 2.5 million tons and that is to keep the 10 kg / year per capita fulfillment for 250 million people. The consumption of Indonesian meat is low, only about 1/4 of the world's consumption average, which is around 40 kg / year per capita. These protein pads are essential for cell growth and intelligence. FAO recently released its statistics that Indonesia only consumes 10 kg / year of per capita meat while our neighbors such as Timor Leste are 36.51 kg, Malaysia 48.93 kg, Brunei 63.87 kg and Australia 111.72 kg.

Why did it happen? Are our vast and fertile lands insufficient to reach conditions equal to the world average? There are at least three causes: we leave the sunnah of the Prophets to graze, wrong in choosing a grazing animal and mindset in grazing locations. Sheep or goats are supposed to be the best grazing animals. For the third error is the mindset about grazing sites. "He Who has sent down rain from the sky for you, part of it to drink and partly (fertilize) the plants, which on which you are grazing your cattle "(Surah 16: 10). Again we get a hint from the Qur'an that the best grazing sites are not in the vast pastures of Australia and New Zealand, but among the shade of other plants that form dense plantations such as energy plantationns. Which country is best suited for it? Tropical country like Indonesia is the right and best for grazing. Besides Allah also commands us to pay attention to our food (QS 80: 24-32), both the substance (quality and quantity) is also how to get until to process it. By eating food that halal thayyiban then our prayers are also easily granted Allah SWT.

Finding The Best Treasure Of Energy Plantations Implementation

From Abu Said Al-Khudri said: Rasulullah SAW said: "The time will come that the best Muslim treasure is the sheep shepherded on the mountaintops and the fall of rain. By bringing his religion he runs away from some slander (Munkar or Muslim fights) ". (H.R. Bukhari)

From Abu Hurairah R.A. from the Messenger of Allah (SAW), he said: "Among the best human livelihoods, is a man who controls his horse in the way of Allah. He flies over it (he rides it up the fast way). Everytime hears the call of war he flies over it eagerly to seek death by being killed (in martyrdom) or facing death on the spot. Or a man who shepherds the sheep at the top of a mountain from the top of this mountain or the valley of some valleys. He established a sholat, gave zakat and worshiped to his Lord until death came to him. He does not interfere with man, and only do good to them. "(H.R. Muslim).

Both hadiths saheeh above explain the virtues of the sheep as the best treasure and shepherd the sheep as the livelihood or the best work after jihad. The best treasure of sheep and grazing is very possible with the implementation of energy plantation. The lands that were previously barren and unproductive can also be repaired with the leguminocea type of energy plantation trees. For more details about energy plantation can be read here. Tens of millions of hectares of land that are not or have not been utilized optimally need to be processed and optimized. This is because there are many urgent agendas today that need to be addressed, such as food sufficiency, nutrition improvement, health improvement and quality of life, creating a strong and quality generation, improving education, improving the economy, improving the environment and so on to create a glorious civilization that lights the world.
When we design and manufacture large scale energy plantationsfor the production of wood pellets, leaves can be used to feed the sheep. With a ratio of 6 trees / head / day, then with 10,000 trees / hectare and if every harvest day of 10 hectares means it can feed 17,000 sheep. Then the best treasure of the sheep also provides a large additional income. In addition, sheep can also be grazed in the area of the plantation but with attention to the age of the energy trees in order to also be able to keep growing optimum not even shoots consumed sheep, as in the scenario 5F Projects For the World! Although it can be used as a single feed for sheep, but the use of gamal leaves with grass to feed the sheep will provide optimal results. The lamb is the best meat and is the world healthiest food, the lamb that is fed with leaves and grass or shepherded in the grass. Sheep fed with leaves and grass will produce Omega-6 ratios of Omega 3 (O6 / O3 ratio) in the range of 1 or balanced. The Omega-6 to Omega 3 ratio indicates the level of quality of food in terms of health, with a range of 1 at the best or balanced conditions whereas if the O6 / O3 ratio is greater then the lower the quality of the food. Meanwhile, if large livestock such as sheep are fed grains such as soybean-based O6 / O3 ratio to be large ie 13 or more. High O6 / O3 ratio will spur the onset of heart disease, cancer and other cardiovascular.
The leaves of the leguminoceae trees in the energy plantations also have a high protein content, for example gamal (gliricidae) leaf  has a protein content of about 25%. In addition, gamal (gliricidae) leaves also have a low tannin content. Tannin compounds in general will reduce protein digestibility for rumen digestion. Conversion of gamal (gliricidae) leaves with 'very' high protein content to lamb meat is also big. So sheep fed with gamal (gliricidae) leaves will have much greater weight than sheep that are not given gamal (gliricidae) leaves. The high nutritive value of gamal (gliricidae) leaves and positive effect on ruminant livestock production especially sheep puts it as ideal animal feed.
In addition to the encouragement of both the saheeh hadiths above and also the low consumption of meat in the country and also the high demand for sheep to export to Saudi Arabia which reached 8 million heads / year with 2 million during the hajj season, and the abundance of gamal (gliricidae) leaves from the energy plantation when it has been produced , has become a number of powerful thrust to get the best treasure by making sheep farms.
The destruction of agricultural lands as well as forests that are very numerous even according to FAO estimated globally has reached one third. Some have even entered the desertification phase. It is certainly alarming for human food sufficiency and other potential natural disasters. Allah SWT says in QS Ya-sin (36): 33; QS Al An'am (6): 99. And again this leguminoceae plant is meant in that verse. Leguminoceae plant roots that are able to bind nitrogen (nitrogen fixing trees) from the atmosphere that serves as a pioneer plant, the trees deliver the land that originally died / arid until eligible for overgrown for fertilizing the soil. Then with the rain falling from the clouds and the sun, the woody biomass formed and its leaves as a nutritious feed, is how energy and food formed come from 'sky'.So the importance of food and renewable energy so humans globally need to formulate and set targets to be sufficient and fulfilled as in the SustainableDevelopment Goals (SDGs) package. The leaves are also high in protein content that is needed for the sheep. Phosporus (P) and potassium / potassium (K) sheep droppings, with grazing in the soil, will further nourish the damaged soils, for nitrogen (N), phospour (P), and potassium (K) or NPK is an essential element of soil fertility. It is the great power of Allah who has given the 'recipe' / guidance to prosper His earth even from the condition of his death (QS Ya-sin (36): 33). It adds more faith and piety to Him like the word of Allah SWT:
"Verily in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day there are signs for the intelligent (ulil albab). Those who remember Allah while standing or sitting or lying down and they are thinking about the creation of the heavens and the earth - (then say) 'Our Lord, you have not created this in vain, Glory to You, so guard us from the torment of hell ". (QS 3: 190-191)
